Thinking back over the multitude of artists I have had the opportunity to listen to, I feel that in some way I’ve benefited from them all. Whether it was a note that was played, a lyric, a melody, or a perhaps a riff, the influences have been many.

The Great Ray Charles, Wes Montgomery, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, The Beatles, Doobie Brothers, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Nat King Cole, George Benson, Eric Clapton, The Temps, The Miracles, Isley Bros, Muddy Waters, and a host of others from genres including blues, rock, contemporary and funk... There are just so many other R&B artists and entertainers to mention.

On a very special note, I must pay homage to a very dear friend and relative, Robert “Rail” Wilson, widely known as, "The Bass Player." His era encompassed the big bands, with the likes of Red Saunders. "Rail," known for his eloquent bass lines and, in later years, for his much sought after studio work. Many of these artists ... we listen to today.

To so many, I owe so much - for sharing their incredible talents and gifts of music. Thank you for the wonderful gifts, the inspiration, courage and opportunity to share  mine.
